Miguel “Piojo” Herrera has been named the new manager of Club America, the club announced on Friday.
The former Mexico coach spent the past three seasons at Club Tijuana, where he recorded two first place regular-season finishes in his last two seasons in charge of the club.
Herrera, who left Club America’s managerial post in 2013 for the El Tri job, will have his second stint as Las Aguilas’ manager.
During his first spell at the club, he led the Mexico City side to two semifinals and two finals. And with Herrera in charge, America won the 2013 Clausura title.
