Shakira earns her 17th No. 1 hit on the Latin Pop Songs airplay chart (dated July 8), as “Me Enamore” climbs 2-1 in the week ending June 22, according to Nielsen Music. The song rises to No. 1 despite a 3 percent decline in spins at the format.
The singer holds the second-most No. 1s on the chart, trailing only Enrique Iglesias, who has 22. Among female soloists, Gloria Estefan holds the second-most No. 1s behind Shakira, with five. The song is her third No. 1 in a year, following “Chantaje,” featuring Maluma, in December, and “La Bicicleta,” with Carlos Vives, in July 2016.
“Me Enamore” has been a huge hit on Billboard’s charts. The single reached No. 4 on the Hot Latin Songs chart and No. 83 on the Billboard Hot 100 (both charts dated June 17).
“Despacito” Reaches Another Milestone: Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, tallies a 21st week at No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart, surpassing Flex’s “Te Quiero,” Juanes’ “Me Enamora” and Son by Four’s “A Puro Dolor” for fifth-most weeks spent at No. 1 on the chart.
“Despacito” also earns its seventh week at No. 1 on the Hot 100.
